Best knife I've owned.
Pros: Great shape makes cutting easier, clip is reversible, holds a cutting edge very well. comfortable grip, easy one-handed open, very solid locking mechanism.Cons: a little big and a bit heavy.I've been carrying thin a Gerber 2"blade for about 20 years. It's a nice knife, but I wanted something with a clip to keep it out of my pocket, and something with a longer cutting edge. This Spyderco Crossbill is nearly perfect. The grip is comfortable and the shape prevents slipping. The bird's eye shaped hole in the blade makes one handed opening very quick and simple. The reversible clip makes point up or point down clipping simple. It came razor sharp, literally. I shaved off a little hair on my arm to test it.The locking mechanism keeps your hands out of the way of the blade and it's recessed to prevent accidental unlocking. Most of all I love the curved blade. The shape look a little menacing, but really it's the perfect...

TEN STARS!
I received a Spyderco Harpy w/a serrated edge as a gift a few years ago & it has served me well. But lately I wanted something along the same line but a little larger with a plain edge and good quality without it costing me a bundle of cash.I looked and compared different hawkbill knives. I even inspected the Cold Steel Black Talon (a local store had it for $400.00 which is ridiculous because I found it to be not up to what you usually expect and receive when you buy something from Cold Steel. Maybe that's why they stopped producing them. I own a few of their knives and have no complaints).I saw the Byrd Crossbill from Spyderco and eventhough it's made in China decided to buy it because I was hoping it lived up to the standards of Spyderco.I"M HAPPY I DID. It's a great knife. A little larger than The Harpy, very sharp and well made yet not unwieldy. If you are looking for a good sturdy and well made hawkbill knife at a great price...
